my extra credit project for english class (i don't even need extra credit in that class and wasn't asked to do an extra credit assignment of any sort but i got bored and did one for amusement)
our english class is reading LORD OF THE FLIES and this is page 143 from the novel. i like this novel, its violent and interesting and totally twisted and disgusting...its great (most people hate it though) anyone ever read it? if you haven't you probably won't get whats going on. slight explaination: the moral of the story is that human beings have an evil nature inside them. while the children in the story are trapped on a deserted island, some search for "the beast" they all fear, they miss the fact that there is no physical beast on the island but that the real beast is an evil force inside them. everyone misses this except the quiet boy named simon (shown in the comic) who the others think is a little strange. simon sees the other boys on the island slowly becoming more violent and savage. this is his "conversation" with the severed pig's head which was left as tribute to "the beast" so that it would not become angered and eat the other children. simon knows theres no real beast living on the island...in fact, the pig's head tells him so.
did that make sense? if it didn't you might wanna read the book cuz i suck at explainations

i read the book i did like this scence till i linked it to his death becouse the beast is darkness of the human heart all that stuff and it made sad that this is what simon last heard was a supost to be dead talking pig and some illustionist but the comic is realy good
thanks very much. this was a favorite scene for me from this book. i really enjoyed both it and the book (even though parts of it were pretty dark) and its good to hear from another reader.
Cool! ^w^ I also read this book for English, and was probably the only one in my class who liked it. xD And you also drew Simon and the pig's head really well, they look exactly how I pictured them. ^_^

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
